A 60-day voyage around the Land Down Under was terminated days after the death of an elderly lady who was abandoned by the cruise liner on a remote island.

The passenger had been walking on Lizard Island with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the group for a pause. The ship sailed away leaving her and went back after some time after the ship staff became aware the lady was not present.

A large-scale hunt located her person the following day.

Investigative bodies are looking into the tragedy, in coordination with investigators and the state coroner.

Head of the cruise operator stated that guests and personnel on the Coral Adventurer were notified that the remainder of the cruise had been terminated due to the "tragic passing and previous technical problems".

Through an announcement, he mentioned that guests would be issued a total repayment, and said the organization was working "to arrange the return journeys of the travelers via chartered flights".

Regulatory bodies also issued an revised communication, and said they had "issued a notice to the Captain" prohibiting any further travelers from getting on the vessel.

The spokesperson said that they would visit the vessel in the Australian city upon its coming back.

The vessel first departed the Australian port on 24 October, and was only 48 hours into the expedition at the time of the senior passenger's death. The remote island was the first stop on the journey.

"From the little facts we have been informed, it appears that there was a breakdown of care and basic judgment," she stated.

She continued that she wished the examination would be able to identify what "the company should have performed that might have saved Her life".

"According to reports from the authorities that it was a exceptionally warm period, and she fell ill on the mountain ascent," she stated.

"She was asked her to return, without accompaniment. Then the boat left, seemingly without performing a headcount.

Organization Reaction

Through an announcement, the Chief Executive confirmed that the organization was "cooperating fully with officials to assist their investigation".
